Privacy Policy

This privacy policy covers what the site collects, who else sees it, how long we keep it, and how to make us delete it. Written to be read rather than to be defensible.

Last updated October 1, 2026

The short version

  • We collect what you type into the contact form. That is the whole list.
  • We do not sell it, and you are not added to any mailing list unless you tick the box yourself.
  • There is no analytics and no advertising tracking on this site today. If that changes, this page changes first.
  • Ask us to delete what we hold and we will, inside 30 days, by one email.

What this privacy policy covers

Eleven sections. Use the list beside them to jump straight to the one you came for.

01

Who we are

Social Philosophy LLC is a marketing agency based in Houston, Texas, trading as Social Philosophy. This policy covers social-philosophy.com and anything you send us through it.

We are the people responsible for the information described here. If you want any of it changed or removed, write to hello@social-philosophy.com or call +1 281 777 0224.

02

What we collect

There are three kinds, and they are worth keeping apart.

What you type in

The contact form asks for your name, your email address, roughly what the enquiry is about, and your message. There is also a mailing list checkbox, which is off until you tick it. Nothing else on the form is required.

What your browser sends

Every website receives this automatically: your IP address, the browser and device you are on, and the page you asked for. It sits in the server log at our host and nobody reads it unless something has broken.

What clients hand over during work

If you hire us, the work itself may involve logins, brand files, ad account access or customer lists. That is covered by the agreement we sign with you, not by this page, and it is never used for anything other than the work.

03

Cookies, and what actually runs here

Rather than describe cookies in the abstract, here is the real list of what runs on this site today.

Google reCAPTCHASits on the contact form and stops automated spam. It sends Google enough about your browser to tell a person from a bot. It is the only outside service on this site.
WordPress and AvadaThe software the site is built on. These set the cookies a site needs to work, and to remember an administrator who is logged in.

There is no Google Analytics here, no Meta pixel and no TikTok pixel. If we add any of them, this page is updated before they go live and the date at the top moves.

04

Why we hold any of it

Four reasons, and nothing outside them.

  • To answer your enquiry, which is the whole point of the form.
  • To do the work, if you hire us.
  • To see which pages are read and which are ignored, so the site gets less wrong over time.
  • Because tax and accounting rules in Texas and the United States require us to keep records of work done and money received.
05

Who else sees it

We do not sell personal information, and we do not trade or rent it. It reaches these companies because the site and the business run on them.

Microsoft 365Our email. Any enquiry you send arrives in a Microsoft mailbox and stays there.
HostingerOur website host. The site and its database, including the form entries stored in it, sit on Hostinger servers in a data center they operate.
GoogleOnly the reCAPTCHA on the contact form. Where we run Google Ads for a client, that happens inside the client own account.
Anyone the law requiresA court order or a lawful request from a government agency. It has not happened, and if it does we will tell you unless we are forbidden to.
06

How long we keep it

Specific periods rather than a vague promise, because a vague promise is unenforceable.

Enquiries that do not become work24 months, then deleted.
Client records and invoices7 years, because tax record keeping requires it.
AnalyticsThere is none on this site today, so there is nothing to keep.
Mailing listUntil you unsubscribe, which you can do from any email we send.
Form entries stored in the website databaseDeleted on the same schedule as the enquiry itself.
07

What you can do about it

All of this applies to everybody, wherever you live. You do not have to quote a law at us.

  • Ask for a copy of what we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct something that is wrong.
  • Ask us to delete it. Unless a tax rule requires us to keep a record, we will.
  • Unsubscribe from the mailing list, at any time, from the link in any email.
  • Block cookies in your browser if you would rather. Every major browser can block third party cookies, and nothing on this site stops working if you do.

One email to hello@social-philosophy.com does any of it. We answer within 30 days, and usually the same week.

08

If you are in California

The California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the right to know what is collected, to have it deleted, to have it corrected, and not to be treated worse for asking. Everything in section seven is how you exercise those rights here.

We do not sell personal information for money. The advertising pixels described in section three may count as sharing for cross context behavioural advertising under California law. You can stop that by blocking third party cookies, by sending a Global Privacy Control signal, which your browser may support, or by emailing us to ask.

Whether every part of the Act applies to a business our size depends on thresholds we may not meet. We have written this section as though it does, because telling you your rights is simpler than arguing about whether we have to.

09

If you are in the EU or the UK

Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to access what we hold, correct it, delete it, object to how it is used, ask for it in a portable format, and complain to your national data protection authority.

Our lawful bases are straightforward: your consent when you send the form or tick the mailing list box, our legitimate interest in running and improving a website, and legal obligation for the tax records.

One thing worth saying plainly rather than burying. We are in the United States, so anything you send is processed there. On the other side of it, because there is no analytics and no advertising tracking here, nothing is loading and recording you before you have had a chance to say no. The only cookies set are the ones WordPress needs to work and the reCAPTCHA on the contact form.

10

Children

This site sells marketing services to businesses. It is not aimed at children, we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 13, and if we find that we have, we delete it.

11

When this page changes

If what we do changes, this page changes, and the date at the top changes with it. There is no archive of old versions, so if a specific wording matters to you, keep a copy.

Ask us to delete it

One email is enough. Tell us what you want removed and we will confirm when it is done, inside 30 days.
